IGM Numbers


The IGM number of a vehicle was issued by the Italian Government to all Italian vehicles and stands for "Ispettorato Generale Motorizzazione", it  translates to Motor-vehicle General Inspection  and basically means that the vehicle is legal to be on the streets of Italy.  Vehicle produced strictly for export and never to be driven on Italian roads did not require IGM number.

On an Lambretta frame number the IGM  number appear after the frame number.
