1960 Lambretta LI 150 Series II

‘Olympic Service’ Model No. 26
1960 Olympics Rome Italy

Innocenti supplied 80 Lambretta scooters, 20 Lambros, and 2 helicopters for the 1960 Olympic games held in Rome Italy.  The machines where used by the athletes, officials, and press.  There are now only 3 bikes known left in existence – one of which you see before you ( this being number 26 ).

The bike has recently been stripped down 101% to clean it up and then give it a complete ‘conserved restoration’.

What does a “conservered restoration” consist of ? To be honest, this was a LOT more difficult than a normal restoration due to the fact that you have to TOTALLY respect the originality of the scooter.

That meant that we have done a complete resto’ using zinc plated fasteners, blackened washers, grease nipples in the cables and particular attention was paid to making sure that all the bolts had the correct casting numbers stamped on them - as the scooter left the factory. We have also used as many NOS Innocenti parts - as we had available - for the badges & rubbers etc. After we totally dismantled the scooter, all the bodywork parts have been cleaned and polished up and only a few parts have been ‘blown over’ (using cellulose paint in the correct color). With a conserved resto’ on a scooter as rare and unique as this, the paintwork could only be blown over / sorted out where there was no longer any paint at all. The most important parts such as the front of the leg shield and side panels couldn’t hardly be touched at all, or all traces of the scooters history would have been lost forever.

The engine (original to this scooter) has been totally overhauled and runs like a dream with all new internals fitted throughout.

The bike was discovered and conserveration work done by the folks (Dean Orton and Paolo Catani) at Rimini Lambretta Centre.
